5 Days in Kota & Hadoti — Palaces, Forts and the Chambal Gorge
Kota, Bundi, Garadia Mahadev and the dramatic Chambal canyon in five days.
Five days is the sweet spot for Hadoti. You get the city's palaces and river culture, a proper look at Bundi, the jaw-dropping canyon views at Garadia Mahadev, and time in nature at Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve and along the Chambal.

Begin at the Garh Palace and Rao Madho Singh Museum, taking in the Kota-school paintings and painted halls.
Visit Kishore Sagar and Jagmandir, then the Seven Wonders Park.
Evening at the Chambal Riverfront with a boat ride and riverside dinner.
Drive to Bundi and explore the Bundi Palace, the Chitrashala murals and Taragarh Fort.
See Raniji ki Baori stepwell and wander the blue lanes and bazaar.
Sunset over Nawal Sagar, an optional overnight in Bundi or drive back to Kota.
Head out to Garadia Mahadev, the clifftop temple with a staggering horseshoe view of the Chambal carving through a deep gorge — one of the most dramatic viewpoints in Rajasthan. Go early for soft light and cooler air.
Continue to the Chambal Garden and take a Chambal boat safari to look for gharials, muggers and river birds.
Relax back in Kota, with a quiet riverfront stroll or a sunset boat ride at Kishore Sagar.
Take a morning safari in Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve, a forested landscape of hills, the Chambal and Kali Sindh rivers, and rich birdlife with a chance of leopard, deer and other wildlife.
Return for lunch, then rest or explore local craft — a Kota Doria weaving visit to Kaithoon village is a lovely, unhurried afternoon.
Enjoy a Kota food trail evening: pyaaz kachoris, chaat and kulfi.
If you have a car, drive out towards Rawatbhata to see the exquisite 9th–10th century Baroli (Badoli) temples, some of the oldest and finest temple carvings in the region.
Return to Kota for last-minute shopping — Kota Doria sarees, souvenirs — and lunch.

- Mukundara Hills safaris may need advance permits or bookings; arrange them a day or two ahead.
- Roads to Garadia Mahadev and Baroli are rural — keep the fuel tank topped up and carry water.
- October to March is ideal; wildlife sightings are best in the cooler, drier months.
- Kaithoon village is the place to buy authentic Kota Doria directly from weavers.
- Keep a buffer in your schedule — Hadoti distances look short but rural roads are slow.
