Maharao Bhim Singh I was among the most ambitious of Kota's early rulers. A devout follower of the Vallabh sect, he was closely associated with the worship of Shrinathji and helped make Kota an important centre of Krishna devotion, reflected in temples such as Mathuradheesh.
His reign strengthened Kota's standing among the Rajput states and deepened the religious and cultural life of the capital.
Contribution to Kota
He raised Kota's political rank, championed the Pushtimarg tradition of Krishna worship in the city, and patronised temple building that shaped Kota's spiritual character.
